Modbus Slave Simulation Using Virtual Serial Port Emulator

Hello guys, this time we will try a modbus slave simulation using a Virtual Serial Port Emulator (VSPE), When developing HMI applications and control systems, developers need to do application/system testing, in terms of using the modbus communication port, we can simulate the system without hardware. Just go ahead >>>...

The software needed is:

 1. Modbus Slave Simulator

2. Virtual Serial Port Emulator (VSPE)

3. QModMaster

- Please download Modbus Slave Simulator from modbustools, Download Modbus Slave Sim HERE

Instal and open the software

- Do modbus communication settings, go to Connection > Connect

Make sure the port you are using is appropriate (we will set this later with VSPE), for example here I use COM10 as a modbus slave.

- Download VSPE from etherlogic "HERE", you can use 32 bit version, and open the software

Select Device > Create > Pair

and then select COM, i will use COM10 and COM11

VSPE is ready to use with a click of the PLAY button

- In Modbus slave software select SETUP > SLAVE DEVINITION

Now please test the modbus reading with the modbus master application or the application you created, here is my example using Qmodmaster

The holding register value has been read from the modbus master

Here I test using an application that I created using the Java programming language
